Dear Members, Friends and Guests of this association,
the McNair–Museum is the Media-Project of the Initiativkreis Berlin e.V.

In the period after the 2nd World War II, the three Allied forces of the Western powers recruited from 1945 to 1994 about 250.000 civil servants from the population of Berlin. These civilian employees worked in all areas relevant to the management, maintenance, utilities, housing, security and other fields.

The exhibits of McNair Museum and this web site are dedicated to the men and women who have over a period of almost 50 years, made their work a contribution to securing the freedom of the Western sectors of Berlin. In addition, the McNair-Museum meeting place and forum of former soldiers and civilian employees of the Allied forces.

The exhibition will give visitors an overview of the daily lives of the civilian employees of the Allied Forces in cooperation with the soldiers and of the United States of America, Great Britain and France.
